Utkal University Campus Faces Unrest Amidst Safety Concerns

1 min read

Utkal University in Bhubaneswar faced another episode of unrest on Thursday, sparking concerns about student safety. Allegations emerged that outsiders entered the campus, vandalizing the students’ union office. Incumbency charts of secretaries and presidents were destroyed, along with some furniture, leading to tension on the campus.

The incident has raised questions about the frequent unauthorized entry of outsiders onto the campus, leaving students in a state of panic. Even though student elections were halted this year, students regularly gather at the union office to discuss important matters. Unfortunately, miscreants forcibly entered the room and caused damage, prompting strong condemnation from a student.

These incidents of misconduct have become increasingly common within the campus, prompting calls for an end to such hooliganism and the prosecution of those responsible. Concerns are growing about the safety of students within the university, with worries that outsiders might enter the hostels and pose a threat. As of now, the university authorities have not issued any official response.
