Bhubaneswar: The Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in Bhubaneswar hosted a workshop on Wednesday to communicate the provisions outlined in the New Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act. The event took place at the Hotel Mayfair.
The Chief Guest for this occasion was Pradeep Kumar Jena, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Odisha. A T Mishra, Deputy Director General of Forests (DDGF), welcomed the attendees and highlighted the newly introduced provisions within the Act.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and advocated for finding a balance between conservation and development.
DDGF A T Mishra delivered an informative PowerPoint presentation on the Forest (Conservation) Act, with delegates from Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal in attendance.
In addition to the Chief Secretary, other dignitaries present included ACS Forest S Sahu, ACS (Mine) D K Singh, PCCF D Biswal, PCCF (Wildlife) Popli, Nodal Officer S Nanda, MD OMC Balwant Singh, DDGF Ranchi Santosh Tiwari, and Collectors and District Forest Officers (DFOs) from various districts.
